Originally from Southern Oregon, Katie began her legal career in a civil litigation firm practicing in state and federal court and then as in-house counsel for a large federal agency.

Upon returning to Oregon, Katie gained litigation experience as a deputy district attorney before deciding to specialize in Oregon workers’ compensation. After litigating for seven years as in-house trial attorney for a large workers’ compensation insurance company, Katie became an administrative law judge (ALJ) deciding workers’ compensation disputes. Katie’s varied legal and trial experiences have give her the ability to analyze and navigate a wide spectrum of legal issues. 

Additionally, Katie authored a chapter in the 2023 edition of Workers’ Compensation in Oregon, a resource for lawyers, and organized continuing legal education events for the Workers’ Compensation Section members while Chair of the Bench Bar committee.  

As a parent of children with special and unique needs, Katie is sensitive and adaptable to the needs of others.
